Notice on the Opening of Quai Branly Tokyo “Treasures from Foreign Lands – The Jewelry of Desert Tribes”

2017-01-30

This month, the JP Tower Museum INTERMEDIATHEQUE (IMT) is opening “Treasures from Foreign Lands – The Jewelry of Desert Tribes,” the fifth installation of its Quai Branly Tokyo project jointly organized with the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac in Paris.
Since the opening of the Intermediatheque, the present project is an unprecedented attempt at bridging together two institutions, a French national museum with the University Museum, the University of Tokyo, through the loan of their collections, the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac selecting items from its prestigious collections.
In “Treasures from Foreign Lands – The Jewelry of Desert Tribes,” we will exhibit exquisite jewelry works produced by various populations from Maghreb and the Near East.
